Climate Whiz Quiz Contest Information

It’s high time for another fun and rewarding challenge, everyone! Be a #climatewhiz and win yourself awesome prizes and the chance to learn more about climate change! Does the Philippines have enough rice to feed its people? What is the state of our corals given the changing climate? Does our garbage contribute to the increase in greenhouse gases? These are just some of the questions that you’ll be able to answer once you join in the fun!

From January 14 to 23, we’ll be releasing 5 questions that will put your knowledge on climate change to the test. Joining is fun and easy. All you have to do is answer the #climatewhiz question of the day, comment your answer, and earn yourself raffle points to win awesome prizes! 3 Grand Prize winners will each get:

-one Coral Triangle coffee table book by award-winning photographer, Juergen Freund. The photo book is worth $85 (around Php 4,000)

-one hard copy of the Tales from the Coral Triangle storybook

Contest terms and conditions

  1. The contest is open to citizens of all ages residing in the Philippines only.
  2. The contest proper opens on Saturday 14 January, 8:00 PM and closes on Tuesday 24 January at 8:00 PM.
  3. Answers must be commented on the original Facebook posts posted by CTI-Southeast Asia.
  4. There will be 5 questions to be posted. Each question answered correctly can earn a contestant up to three points, depending on how fast he/she answers the question of the day and the quality of the response.
  5. Participants who provide links, articles and explanations to their answers will gain an additional one (1) point.
  6. The first five contestants to answer correctly will automatically get two (2) points for the question. All contestants to answer correctly after the fifth contestant will obtain only one (1) point for a given question. The more raffle points earned, the more chances to win the prizes!
  7. Participants may answer in all the questions that will be posted but he/she may win the grand prize only once in all contests to be launched.
  8. Winners will be announced on 25 January 2017 at 8:00 PM.
  9. We will send a personal message to the winners via Facebook. The winners will have 7 days to respond to claim their prize after CTI-Southeast Asia notifies them. Otherwise, the prizes will be forfeited.
  10. The prizes will be shipped via post one week after the announcement of winners.
  11. The winners will have to provide a valid ID (school ID, government ID) and give us a complete address to where we can send the prizes.
